Plane Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A plane transporting the US defense secretary was required to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed following standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson stated in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This event isn't the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet carrying a top government figure has encountered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a American military jet ferrying Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
