Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.
Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File
No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
