Jurgen Klopp says a return to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, remarked that rejoining the club remains a possibility. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign that included continental glory and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor for the DFL.

Fan Sentiment and His Frank Comments

They secured the Premier League in the previous campaign, but many fans holding him in high esteem would welcome the notion that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I declared I won't manage a different club on English soil. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...yeah. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, so I could make the decision down the line, I don’t know. Do I have to make the decision today? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding what circumstances must arise to bring him back to management, he revealed he isn't eager to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “I don't crave being a coach; No desire to be under bad weather through long matches; I don’t miss going to media briefings repeatedly each week or doing numerous chats each week.

“The locker room isn't missed in that context, but sitting in a restaurant with the team having a nice chat, is pleasant. With many victories meaning regularly great spirits at the club. I still have Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears for example.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, crediting him for the adjustments that took the title last term. Liverpool have lost a string of losses across various tournaments post heavy investment, yet he dismissed the idea it could be the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, excellent performer. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. You don’t have to worry over the club, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of Jota, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, along with the consequences for the team. The forward lost his life in a road accident alongside his brother this past summer.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It’s not about his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the dressing room absent his presence. Putting it into words is tough about it. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad also. Not a single person might employ it to justify results but it is the situation. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Handling this emotionally is difficult. Impossible.”
