Homages Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the pair.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt ready to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can now put my grief into words," posted Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began passing more hours together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "one day without joy".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes expressed.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles judge ruled to bar the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive put a security hold on the files to limit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" connected to the active case.

The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

In the wake of the killings, public individuals expressed varying reactions.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making provocative remarks that were met with immediate backlash by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the those speaking out last week. Speaking on his podcast, Rogan characterized the statements as "disturbing" and suggested they showed a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by remarking that an adviser should have intervened when the decision to comment on the passing was made.
