Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the prestigious Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, the gifted cast also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards during the show.
Other notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only four special—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by critics.
