Approximately 90 Air Travels Linked to Jeffrey Epstein Reportedly Came to or from UK Airfields
A review has found that nearly 90 flights associated to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein reportedly touched down at and left British airports, with some allegedly having onboard women from the UK who allege they were exploited by the convicted child sex offender.
Aviation Records Uncover Trail of Movement
The flight logs were part of thousands of legal papers and papers released by Epstein’s estate that have been released over the previous twelve months. The review found 87 flights tied to Epstein – featuring many that were not previously known – arriving or departing from UK airports between the early 1990s and 2018.
Passenger Details and Post-Conviction Flights
Unidentified women were recorded among the passengers entering and exiting the UK. Significantly, 15 of these UK flights took place subsequent to Epstein’s 2008 guilty verdict for procuring prostitution from a minor.
“It was ‘shocking’ that there had never been a ‘thorough probe in the UK’ into his operations in the country,” stated American attorneys representing hundreds of Epstein survivors.
UK Survivors and Legal Proceedings
A statement from one of the UK-based survivors helped convict Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. However, that individual has never been contacted by UK authorities, according to her attorney based in Florida.
In a response, the Metropolitan police said they had “not been provided with any additional evidence that would support restarting the investigation.” They added, “If new and relevant evidence be presented to us, encompassing any arising from the disclosure of documents in the US, we will evaluate it.”
Continuing Document Release and Judicial Decisions
Proposed legislation to release every document held by the American government in relation to Epstein passed the US Congress last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to adhere to this requirement. Hundreds of thousands of papers are expected to be made public.
In a related development, a federal judge ordered last week that the DOJ could make public evidence from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s close friend, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence over the charges.
