A individual accused with pursuing Kate McCann reportedly left her a voicemail message which posed: "what if I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, 24, who a jury heard has persistently asserted she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are standing trial indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February this year.

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording said: "What if there is a tiny probability that I'm her? Then what? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I do not need money, I have a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the recording stated.

The tribunal was told that through emails, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, transmitted youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with the police force who collated the data, informed the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with family friends of the McCanns, according to the phone records.

On that date, Mr McCann picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a voicemail on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my position."

The court learned the co-defendant struck up a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in that winter.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she ought to be treated respectfully in the months before the visit to the village, that area, in December 2024.
